Hiccups

All of us have experienced hiccups at some point of time or other. It is just a trivial condition. It doesn’t need any treatment. Hiccups refer to the involuntary contractions in the diaphragm muscles. Irritation in the nerves of the diaphragm makes the breath to move in a jerk that produces a different type of sound. We termed it as “Hiccups”

Cause of Hiccups:-

Eating too much of food
Eating food fast
Stomach disorders
Kidney problems
Lung infections
Taking too hot and spicy food

Symptoms of Hiccups:-

Contraction of diaphragm
Continuous ‘hic’ sound from the throat

Home remedies for hiccups:-

Holding the breath will stop the hiccups
Drinking  ice water frequently in short durations is also helpful
Gargling with water acts as an effective home remedy for hiccups
Laughing loudly will soon stops the hiccups
Drink one ounce of vinegar to control hiccups
Keeping an ice bag on diaphragm is also an effective remedy in curing hiccups
Sucking crushed ice provides immediate relief
Tickling the throat with a cotton swab is also effective
Sucking small piece of ginger will also cure hiccups
