Swelling Gums

There are millions of bacteria that reside in the space between your gums and teeth. Although you have taken oral hygiene regime it is quite common for a person to suffer from swollen gums. As the bacteria in the teeth grow they form a thin layer over the gum line and the teeth called plaque. This plaque leads to gingivitis. This leads to gums swelling. Sometimes the gums may significantly swell and hide the teeth altogether.




The following are some of the causes for swelling gums:-

Gingivitis
Periodonititis
Gums infection or oral cavity
Manoilia
Lack of proper nourishment
Leukemia
Allergies etc

Symptoms of swelling gums:-

Bleeding from the gums in more inflamed conditions
Interspaces between teeth may increase. The teeth becomes shaky and loose
Painful gums when touched
The gums become upraised and recede so that the teeth look longer

Home remedies for swelling gums:-

Brush your teeth regularly using baking soda. This may hurt the gum a little bit but it is an effective home remedy for swollen gums.
Gargle your mouth thoroughly with strong hydrogen peroxide solution
 Massage your gums lightly by using clean and sterilized cotton buds. Although it hurts initially it is necessary to follow as it is a good home remedy for swollen gums.
Mix some black pepper powder in clove oil and apply it to the swollen gums.
Ignite a small twig of the she sham tree and it produces a frothy discharge from the other cut end. Apply the froth on gums. It stops the swelling and even bleeding of the gums. This is one of the useful home remedy for swelling of gums.
Squeeze half a lemon in 50 grams of the rose flower essence. Mix these thoroughly and put it in the mouth. Keep the liquid in the mouth as much time as you can and then throw it out. Do like this three to four times a day. This will bring back the gums to normal condition.
