Numb Tongue Causes

You might want to know about the numb tongue causes that said to be mainly caused by nerve damage. Here is the time when you feel numb on your tongue, but sometimes the numb tongue causes is not that serious and needed too much concern. But you should also be careful for some numb tongue causes that is chronic in its form. Usually, feeling of numb in tongue also called as paresthesia of tongue. Usually the numb tongue causes are because of some damage which is mainly caused by compression or irritation which may have occurred in some nerve branch that is situated in your tongue or mouth.

There are some factors that can be said as numb tongue causes, for example is the Peripheral neuropathy which is also known as sensory nerve damage. This will cause numbness together with pinching and tingling sensation that you have in your tongue. Then, the next numb tongue causes can be the burning mouth syndrome, which is refer to a condition of feeling severe burning in your mouth. Not only causing your tongue to numb, it will also be able to impair your sense of taste.

Then, another numb tongue causes are when you receive general anesthesia, which can also cause speech problems and some significant pain, too. You can also get numb on your tongue because you are extremely sensitive to cold temperatures or feeling of stress. As the response for this, you can experience numbness, not only in your tongue, but also in fingers, ears, toes, and nose. This is a condition that called as Raynaud’s phenomenon. Other numb tongue causes are when you take deep breaths which make your heart rate faster than what your body demands, you can have hyperventilation, and in some cases, it can cause numbness in tongue, limbs, and lips.
